The Story of HOPE for Women: (from PR Web Press Release Newswire)
MUNCIE, IN August 14, 2006 -- The author, Langston Hughes, asked, “What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?” In the case of Angelia White, the answer is a resounding NO! What should have marked the end of a dream has become a source of inspiration and hope for all women. White’s dream, a Christian lifestyle magazine entitled "Hope for Women", will debut in bookstores and newsstands around the country on November 15, 2006.
Her Story
As a child, Angelia “Angie” White’s dream was to publish a magazine. Her dreams were shattered, however, when she became a victim of childhood molestation. White then turned to her mother whose strength gave Angie hope and purpose, and she was able to heal. In 2005, after losing both her father and grandmother, she decided it was time for her to awaken the dream inside to publish a magazine. When she mentioned this idea to her co-worker, she turned and remarked, “You! What do you know about publishing a magazine?” This prompted White, who had no formal publishing experience, to surround herself with the best staff possible, recruiting top talent from across the country to help with her endeavor.
About the Magazine
Her dream and hope are no longer deterred. Angie White has made Hope for Women magazine a reality. It is a magazine that deals with real women, real stories, real life issues and real hope. It offers faith, love and virtue for the modern Christian woman. Hope for Women covers a variety of topics in a no-nonsense voice. While encouraging readers, the magazine also tackles the tough issues and put a face on the females who deal with real-life problems and challenges. It’s a magazine that understands Christian women have interests outside of religion and face many of the issues all women face.
Hope for Women’s goal is to read like a conversation with a good friend. Its aim is to make readers laugh, cry and think. Hope for Women avoids a preachy tone; instead, it gently weaves biblical approaches into a variety of topics, including business/finance, relationships, health, home essentials, entertainment and more. The debut issues features such women of hope as CeCe Winans, Tammy Franklin, Teresa Hairston and Lisa McClendon.

Indiana Thrift for AIDS, Inc.
Indianapolis, Indiana
Indiana Thrift for AIDS, founded in 1997, grew out of the need to raise increasing amounts of money to assist those affected by HIV/AIDS and their families. Today, Indy Thrift (as it is called by locals)...
Today, Indy Thrift accomplishes its mission by reselling donated items and providing a portion of the proceeds to the Indiana AIDS Fund, a grant-making organization that makes monetary donations to AIDS-related organizations. Indiana Thrift for AIDS is also a very important part of its community, providing a low-cost alternative for many who are unable to afford shopping at traditional retailers. The success of the store is evident -- within four short years, the store has grown four times larger than its original size. The goal of Indiana Thrift for AIDS is to become a virtually self-supporting source of funds for the Indiana AIDS Fund.

Wish Kids International
Indianapolis, IN
Mission: Wish Kids International is dedicated to offering a sustainable solution that guarantees the welfare of underprivileged children and families affected by HIV/AIDS and other related diseases, through education, sourcing, coordination and provision of need-based resources and support services.
Programs: To date, Wish Kids International has helped countless orphans overcome their emotional problems in crisis situations through the "Individual Crisis Management Program" in Rural Zimbabwe. Wish Kids has also appropriated medical supplies to the children under its care in Zimbabwe through the "Outreach Via Satellite Clinic Program". Wish Kids has managed to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS among youth in Indiana, through their volunteer participation in fundraising for AIDS Orphans in Africa. The organization continues to provide this sensitization program. Wish Kids began providing sources of information through the "Village Computer Program" which orphans and members in these communities have free access to the internet. Wish Kids is now asking for funding for the Backyard Poultry Projects. The BYP will benefit rural families of women and jobless youths all in the 20 to 29 age group. The 20 to 29 year age group has been selected because this is the sexually active group and also the most group affected by HIV/AIDS due to poverty. Most individuals are in their prime reproductive stages and parenting years. Income generated from these ventures will also support other family members, which may include HIV/AIDS orphans.
